- HOW DO WE GRAPH DILATIONS?

A dilation is a type of transformation that causes an image to stretch or shrink in proportion to its orginal size. Scale factor is the ratio by which the image stretches or shrinks is known as the scale fctor. Multiply the dimensions of the original image by the scale factor to get the dimensions of the dilated image.


PROBLEM:  Draw the dilation image of triangle ABC with the center of  dilation at the origin and a scale factor of 2. OBSERVE: Notice how EVERY coordinate of the original triangle has been multiplied by the scale factor (x2).
HINT: Dilations involve multiplication!

    Love how you used examples to represent the definitions , but try being a little bit more specific to how you actually use it ( Sorry schnatterly is making me comment on people's blog)
